Event Conditions

The SrixonQueensland
Senior Order of Merit competition consists of Senior Golf events approved by Golf
All events are to
be at least 18-holes duration and shall be played in accordance with the Rules
of Golf as adopted by R&A Rules Limited, together with such local rules as
are in force on the course over which the competition rounds are being played.
All events will be
played in a stableford format with calculations made to convert to nett and
scratch scores. Clubs may apply to Golf
All clubs staging
designated Srixon Queensland Senior Order of Merit events are required to:
· Agree
to the conditions of the Srixon QSOOM and have signed an event agreement
· Return
an alphabetical listing of all players that completed in the designated event
together with entry form, handicap, stableford score details for each
respective player.
· In
accordance with the Australian Handicapping System, all clubs hosting
designated events are also required to either directly enter all competition
scores on Golflink or provide a summary of all scores and relevant ACR to the
home clubs of all competing players. It would be appreciated if this could be undertaken
immediately upon the conclusion of the event.
Any club desiring
to stage a QSOOM Event must initially submit a formal approach to the Golf Queensland.
All events which are part of the Srixon QSOOM will be published on the Golf Queensland
website – www.golfqueensland.org.au
Eligibility
The Srixon Queensland
Senior Order of Merit competition is open to amateur golfer 55 years and over, up to a maximum handicap of 27(men) and 45
(women), who are members of clubs registered with Golf Queensland, or of
golf clubs registered with such State or Overseas Associations as are affiliated
with or recognized by Golf Queensland.
To accrue points
in a Srixon Queensland Senior Order of Merit event, a player must have reached their
55th birthday by the first scheduled day of the event and be
registered in the Srixon QSOOM. Eligible players will additionally conform in all
respects to the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by R&A Rules Limited.
A minimum of 15 players is required for the event to count towards the Srixon QSOOM.
Registration
A player will be
automatically registered in the Srixon QSOOM once they have played in a Srixon QSOOM
event.
Points Allocation
The Srixon Queensland
Senior Order of Merit will recognise performances for both scratch and nett (handicap
reduced) scoring.
A players final Srixon Queensland Senior Order of Merit points total for both scratch and nett will
comprise all points accrued from his best eight performances in designated
events during that calendar year. Once a player plays more than eight
designated events, his worst performance (e.g. lowest points total from a
designated event) drops off for each additional event he plays.
The player that
accrues the highest total of points for scratch performances in the designated
events over the calendar year will win the Srixon Queensland Senior Order of Merit
Trophy and shall also receive an individual trophy. The runner-up and third
place-getter shall also receive a trophy.
The player that
accrues the highest total of points for nett performances in designated events
over the calendar year will win the Srixon Queensland Senior Order of Merit Handicap
Trophy and shall also receive an individual trophy. The runner-up and third
place-getter shall also receive a trophy.
The 65 and over
player that accrues the highest total of points for scratch performances in
designated events over the calendar year will win the Srixon Queensland Senior Order
of Merit 65 and over Trophy and shall also receive an individual trophy. The
runner-up and third place-getter shall also receive a trophy.
Eligible players
completing a Srixon Queensland Senior Order of Merit event will be awarded points for
that tournament as follows:

Notes:
During a designated Srixon Queensland Senior Order
of Merit event, any ties in either the gross, nett or 65+ competitions will see
relevant points add and split by the number of competitors tying on the same
score. Points for each competitor will then be ‘rounded up. to the nearest
whole number.
Every eligible player completing a Srixon Queensland Senior Order of Merit event will be awarded a minimum of 1 points.
In the event of a tie for final finishing
position for either the Srixon Queensland Senior Order of Merit Trophy, Srixon Queensland
Senior Order of Merit 65+ Trophy or the Srixon Queensland Senior Order of Merit
Handicap Trophy, a count-back based on the respective player finishing position
in the Queensland Senior Amateur Championship (stroke or nett section as
applicable) shall be applied. If this count-back procedure does not resolve the
tie, the matter shall be referred to the Golf Queensland Match Committee whose
decision shall be final.
Motorised
Transport
Unless otherwise specified within a
designated event’s conditions and subject to the approval of the respective
host club, during a Srixon Queensland Senior Order of Merit event, players are
permitted to ride in or on motorised vehicle. Individual players must contact
the specific Club(s) hosting designated events to finalise cart hire/usage.
