Indooroopilly's Jessica Park and Pacific's Jacki Marshall share the first round lead of the 2008 Queensland Girl's Amateur Championship at Brisbane's Gailes Golf Club.

Park and Marshall both carded two-under par rounds of 71 to be two shots clear of third placed Annie Choi (Gainsborough Greens) and Ashley Ona (Concord).

Cameron Smith and Ashley Ona win Greg Norman Junior Masters

15 year old Cameron Smith (Wantima) and 17 year old Ashley Ona (Concord) have won the Boys and Girls Championships respectively in the 2008 Greg Norman Junior Masters held at Coolangatta Tweed Heads Golf Club this week.  Smith won on the 2nd playoff hole after finishing tied with Western Australian Jamie Warman (Gosnells), while Ona overtook Emma Ash to win the Girls by four shots.

Taylor MacDonald and Emma Ash lead at the halfway point of the Greg Norman Junior Masters being played at Coolangatta Tweed Heads Golf Club. MacDonald continued his good form today with a round of one-under par 71, while Ash fired a second round of one-under par 72 to overtake Ashley Ona.

Surprise overnight leader Stephen Dartnall showed no sign of letting his nerves get the better of him, carding a 4-under par 68 to leave him top of the leaderboard on an interrupted second day of the Australian Open at Royal Sydney.

Wood wins wire-to-wire in Queensland Schoolboys

Seventeen year old Chris Wood (Wynnum) held his nerve today holding off challengers to win the 2008 Queensland Schoolboys Golf Championship. Wood carded rounds of 67, 67, 71 for a Championship total of 205 (-8) and taking the title by 7 shots.

Wood recovered well from a scratchy start today after carding bogeys on his opening two holes.

Wynnum's Chris Wood will head into the final round of the Queensland Schoolboys Championship tomorrow with a comfortable 5 shot lead after backing up with another 67 (-4) today to be 8-under for the championship.

Wood's 67 featured 6 birdies on the North course at Nudgee which once again proved difficult in the humid and blowing conditions.

Dartnall, Goggin and Porter share lead at Royal Sydney

Queensland state players tee-off at Royal Sydney

While plenty of players will suffer nerves on the first tee of the 2009 Australian Open, most would forgive Brett Rankin if today he is feeling particularly jittery.  Rankin, a member of the 2008 Queensland State Squad, was called into the Australian Open field as first alternate following the late withdrawal of Adam Scott.
