Clayton leads Women’s Sand Greens by six

Charleville's Robyne-Lee Clayton has fired an opening round 4-over par 76 on the Blackall layout to lead the 2009 Queensland Women's Sand Green Championship by six strokes.

A further six shots back in the Silver division (0-18) is Carmel O'Keeffe (Springsure).

Local hope, Lyn Macnamara (Blackall) shares the lead in the Bronze I division (19-29) with Goomeri's Joyce Koy after both players shot a 16-over par 88. Chris Thorne (Gracemere) sits a further shot back.

Bea Dangerfield (Inglestone) leads the Bronze II division (30-45) by three shots after an opening round of 20-over par 92. Leanne Moore (Inglewood) sits in second place after an opening 95.

The player's will enjoy the official Championship dinner tonight hosted by the Blackall Golf Club, with the final round of the Championship commencing Sunday morning.
