Antcliff and Mew Win Mixed Foursomes at Gailes

Maverick Antcliff (Hills) and Christina Mew (Royal Queensland) have outplayed the field and taken out the 2009 Queensland Mixed Foursome Championship at Gailes Golf Club by 1 shot from Tim Hart (Indooroopilly) and Sheree Hasson (Pacific) today in bleak and wet conditions.  Antcliff and Mew, both juniors overcame the difficult conditions throughout the day to post rounds of 77 and 73 for a total of four-over par 150.

Players experienced torrential rain at times during the day however the Gailes layout held up well and was in excellent condition considering the recent rains the club and rest of Brisbane has experienced.

Winning the Junior division was Aaron Wilkin (Wynnum) and Emily McLennan (Hills) who returned 79 and 78 to win on a count-back from Eric Park and Jessica Park (Indooroopilly).  Husband and wife combination, Paul & Natalie Griffiths (Gold Coast Burleigh) took out the Mid-Amateur division while Charlie Kaehler (Coolangatta Tweed ) and Val Marsh ( Ocean Shores) won the Senior section.
