Egan wins Queensland Sand Greens

Cobar's Matt Egan has added another State Sand Green Championship to his resume after a final round 1-under par 69 to win the Queensland Sand Green Championship by two strokes from Queensland's Adam Gemmell.
Egan, who is the current New South Wales Champion maintained his overnight lead despite a strong come-back from Golf Queensland representative Adam Gemmell who fired a final round 4-under par 66.
Ray Bennett (Pitsworth) took out the B Grade division with two consecutive rounds of 7-over par 77. A further three shots behind was local player Lindsay Baker (St George).
The C Grade division was won by Lindsay Watts (Millmerran) by a generous eleven strokes with rounds of 84, 83. St George's Tom Siddins finished runner-up.
Amazingly 47 clubs were represented this weekend with St George Golf Club proving to be a great host and the players thoroughly enoying the club's hospitality.
Boulia Golf Club, in the State's North West is set to host the 2010 Championship from 11 - 13 June.
