Golf Queensland has retained the trophy in its annual clash against the Australian Defence Force Golf Association played at The Brisbane Golf Club over the last two days.

In what was one of the closest encounters of the event's 6 year history, Golf Queensland won the clash 15 ½ to 8 ½ although the end result does not tell the full story. 12 of the 24 matches made it to the last hole, with Golf Queensland winning 8 of those which proved pivotal in the end.

Golf Queensland led after the Four-Ball morning matches yesterday by 4 - 2. The overnight lead was just one when the ADFGA won the afternoon Foursome matches 3 ½ - 2 1/2.

In today's singles,  most matches were extremely tight with 10 of the 12 matches all square through 8 holes. Golf Queensland managed to play the superior golf overall on the back nine to eventually win the singles 9 - 3 and retain the trophy.

The event has been a highlight for the players over the last 6 years and the ADFGA also play against teams from the Victorian Golf Association, the New South Wales Golf Association and an Australian Seniors side.

The comraderie between the two teams since the event's inception in 2004 has always been exceptional and Golf Queensland is proud to host the ADFGA team in this annual clash. The Brisbane Golf Club proved again to be an outstanding venue and the course was presented beautifully for the event, even after recent flooding that has greatly affected the South East.
